Yes, I completely agree Linda and Barb, Milly really was a very kind and generous lady. I have many fond memories from when I was a small boy, visiting them after primary school and playing hide and seek in the back garden which seemed absolutely huge. In more recent years I would take Milly and John all the various findings from the Oliver Family History, on paper of course as they didn't have the internet, both Milly and John were always so genuinely interested and often fascinated to hear the latest news, and they would of course chuckle when I presented 'another' Newspaper clipping about Naughty Edward and his poaching antics. I think probably the highlight was sharing with them the photograph of Edward.

Even approaching their 90's they came to the Oliver Family History days in 2010 and 2011, it was an absolute inspiration to keep on researching.

Milly was the eldest of 6 children to Frank and Hilda, and with my Gran passing in 2013, now only Gladys survives from the 6:

I'm sad to hear of Milly's passing. Was she the last of Frank's children, Shane? Maybe even the last of that whole generation (Edward's grandchildren). She was a very kind-hearted and generous person. On every trip I made to England, the day before I returned to Canada she and John would always come over to my mum's to say goodbye to me and Milly would give me a bar of chocolate or a bag of sweets "to eat on the journey". She will be missed. May she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about Milly. As they were close neighbours Milly often called in to Mum for a chat and she never came empty handed. It was just something like an apple, a few carrots, tomatoes or chocolate bar, often the Witney Gazette too. Such a simple kind gesture - a tradition of times gone by. I don't think Milly or my Mum realised that they shared the same ancestors.
