Arrh, superb, thanks for that Irene, I'll look to make contact with Terry and see if he can help throw some light on 'Tots' and/or any other Oliver memories for Finstock.

I have also contacted the Finstock History Society, similarly re: info on Tots or for connections for any other folks that may have some Oliver memories - not had a response yet but will let you know if/when I do.

Oki-dokes, speak soon,
Shane

Hi Shane - one person worth knowing in Finstock for all Pratley, Hadland and Oliver connections is - Terry Pratley. He does not have a computer. Sometimes difficult to contact as he works very funny hours and also goes to virtually all Oxford United Football matches (home and away). He is a `cousin` several times removed of mine.

Regards, Irene

Hello All,

I was browsing some old back dated copies of the Finstock Village Newsletter when on the front of the December 2005 copy I spotted an 'Oliver'.

‘Tots Oliver’ to be precise (I don't what Tots is an abbreviation for, or if it was a sort of nickname?) and she it with 4 others including a couple of Langford ladies, Lil and Kit - Tots, Lil and Kit may be related as Langford and Oliver marriages did happen?

I was just wondering if anyone knows:
- of Tots and if or where she may fit into the Oliver tree?
- did she marry into the family of was she an umarried oliver girl at the time of this photo?
- or possibly know of the Langford ladies?
- or even may now what the event was? (Does the union Jack apron on Reg Haines give us a clue or is it just a fashion statement on his part?)

Here's the content from the Newsletter, sadly a very shaky photograph:

If we draw a complete blank I may contact the Finstock Local History Society to see if they can shed any light on it.

Okay, thanks for now, speak soon,
Shane
