Cone flowers are propagated either through the use of Seeds, nursery transplant or through the division of mature plants. Planting seeds can be done either right outdoors following the last frost or indoors 8-10 weeks beforehand. Germination requires the exposure of seeds to light by placing them on the face, but not deep into the soil. Plants spaced 12 -18 inches to provide adequate ventilation. The best time to divide is during early spring or fall when clumps are divided with great care to ensure the clumps do not harm the root system and promote a healthy new growth.
