Hi Shane. just a couple of comments re Olga and Ronnie's photos.The wedding photo looks almost certain to be in the front garden at Caxton Road.I think I may have been wrong with thinking Olga was blonde.[I was thinking back to when I was only 6 or 7].But my goodness iwas right about the lovely rosy complexion.She looks now a little more like her auntie Mollie than her own mum,or if I can jump across family branches even much like Emma Nina.My only memory of Ronnie is that in his youth he was an excellent competitive swimmer.Truly 2 lovely people....bye for now ........Phil
I'm pretty sure that descendants of Gladys have seen the wedding picture before at least, her daughter Gladys had a copy when I met her in February, shared by Olga Flack I believe - Not sure about Evelyn's descendants.
As to Olga's hair, blonde or brunette, I'm going to try and find out for you, perhaps the dark hair may have just been a wedding day hair do?

Hi everyone. First a monumental thank you Shane for the beautiful video of wedding photos that you have so lovingly compiled.Christine the photo of your mam and dads wedding made me gasp in amazement.Your dad at that age is almost a double of my brother George Oliver Hume at the same age apart from George being slightly thinner in the face.A question to any one on the Brotherton side of the family.On Olga and Ronnies wedding picture it would seem Olgas hair was quite dark and my memory is of her being blonde.Is my memory letting me down. Now the picture of Mollie and Harrys wedding in burley; the 2 young ladies on Mollies left are her sisters Evelyn later Mrs London,Heather Jemisons grandmother and Gladys ,later Mrs Brotherton.[Olga Prestons mum and Kevin Norriss grandmother. I had prepared a presentation for last years Oliver Family History Day that included a number of lovely old wedding photographs that various family members had kindly shared over the years - the day whizzed by and sadly we ran out of time to show the presentation.
Meanwhile, this month has seen two fantastic wedding anniversaries within the Oliver Family Tree, Laurence and Wendy Dixey (nee Oliver) celebrated 50 years of marriage, and Ron and Olga Preston (daughter in Gladys Brotherton nee Oliver) celebrated 60 years of marriage - both amazing milestones.
Well, to mark these anniversaries it seems like a perfect time to resurrect that wedding photograph idea.
So, here below is a short video for you to hopefully enjoy - and as the video says, many congratulations to Laurence and Wendy and to Ron and Olga, and thank you to everyone who has kindly shared the photographs that are included.
