Hello Irene

These Ancestry family trees are very tanitilizing as most of them don't give any indication of how the owner of the Tree is connected to the person you are interested in and sometimes their source of information is very vague to say the least.   I think I'll just have to take the plunge and contact a couple of them.

I will definitely contact Colin Dore as he may be able to throw some light on my Gt Gt Grandfather William Townsend (if I've got the right William Townsend) two of his daughters from his first marriage both married members of the Dore family.

The warm weather has been lovely but we definitely need the rain, preferably this week as we off to Wales next week for a few days.

We haven't been to Combe walking for quite some time as our lovely dog Nell died at the end of February and going for walks isn't the same without her.  We're hoping to get another dog in a few weeks time and then we'll be off on our adventures again.

Bye for now - Linda

Hello Linda,

I cannot really help you, my family came down via brother Thomas.  I do not have my family tree on Ancestry.  The only Ancestry member I have ever contacted - and he gave me entry into his Tree - was Colin Dore. (Wychwood Dore).  He has nearly all the Oliver Family on his Tree, but not a lot of information regarding James/Mary etc.  He loves having members contact him and is very helpful.

On my other side of the Family (Husband), I contacted a member because he had Husband`s grandfather down as family.  We did not think John(Husband) had any living relatives apart from immediate family.  One quick e.mail and we found `cousins` in Australia and also a `cousin` in London - two different families.  I have now put them in touch with each other and they may be  meeting up in  London later this year. So it works.

Hope you made the most of the lovely warm and sunny weather, it is going to change this weekend.  Woollies out again!!

Regards,   Irene

Hello everyone

First of all thanks to Jane for the tip about the Warwickshire records online.

My request concerns James Oliver (1773-1836) and Margaret Temple Herbert (1796-1856).  They are my Gt. Gt. Gt. Grandparents.  They appear on several Public Family Trees on Ancestry and before I contact the owners of these trees I am wondering if there is anyone reading this messageboard who has a family tree on Ancestry with James and Margaret on there or, has anyone ever contacted the owners of Family Trees on Ancestry which include James and Margaret.

Or, and I think I have probably asked this before, is there anyone descending from James and Margaret.  My line descends from their daughter Mary (1822-1894) and I would be interested to know if there are any descendants of their other children using this website.

Hope this makes sense.

Bye for now from a very warm and sunny Oxfordshire - Linda
