Hey Irene,

Thanks for those. I suspect these folks are connected though I'm not 100% sure on who's who as I've not yet really got to grips with those Oliver generations back in Long Compton, other than identifying our Josiah's siblings, below:jgen1.jpg

I think its possibly that Richard is Josiah's brother, born 1677/78. The other two though, John and Ann don't fit so readily into this family branch, though I do know that Josiah's father Edward had at least two brothers, John and Thomas, so the other two could well come down those family lines.

More work to be done on the Long Compton Oliver's I think!

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

Just dug out some old notes and I am not sure if I have mentioned them before.  Would the following be related to our Olivers of Long Compton do you think?

Marriages - Long Compton

25th October 1686      John Oliver/ Elizabeth Prentice      Both of this Parish

31st October 1702      Richard Oliver/Mary Bury                Both confuseof this Parish

31st May 1728            Charles Parker/Ann Oliver              Both of this Parish

I also have several Bap.Bir. and Bur. of Olivers from Banbury, but I doubt if they are `ours`

Regards,   Irene
