To Shane, Jane, Shane's Dad, Catering Staff and All,
Thank you for a very enjoyable day trip into Oxfordshire. There will be plenty of information to add to my Olivers. Very appropriate that it was held in the old school and good to know there was a connection to the Oliver Name. I now know where Bermuda is situated and will record the sad death of Joshua.
Very good to see that excellent group photograph and the new Family Tree.
No....I had the old site bookmarked and that's what I always used. I didn't even know you had restyled the site!
I've been getting the current stuff on the messageboard but I'm now wondering if I've been missing anything elsewhere on the site. Time for a refresher tour around the site I think.
Just found the beautiful photo taken on Sunday. Several faces I recognise. I will not say the obvious - `if the Devil should cast his net....`Looking forward to seeing the video.
A couple of cakes and washing up a few cups is the least we could do for all the help and support you generously give us all on the Family history day and everyday on the website. You really deserve the title of Most Honorable Honarary Member of the Oliver Family.
Hi Jane, all of the credit for being able to tell Solomon and Joshua's tale belongs to you, no questions!
Your tenacity and the employment of your vast experience of the various resources out there has been invaluable in reaching the point whereby you were able to present a fascinating and factual step by step conclusion to one of our longest and most challenging Oliver puzzles.
I, and all the other Oliver's very much appreciate the benefits we gain from your time, effort and experience as we march into another year of fact finding - how exciting!
It was all Shane's work organising the big day, so the credit should all be his. I was just an extra pair of hands on the day. It was great to be part of it. So well done Shane for another successful Oliver Day.
Thank YOU Linda and your fellow washers-up for the sterling work you did in the kitchen! I am glad I didn't have to face that mountain of cups and saucers. What a lot of tea, coffee and cake got consumed! Very delicious cake too: I tested three different ones and think the lemon sponge was my favourite.
Now, I wonder what Oliver discoveries will be made during the next year? There must be lots more we don't know . . .
Thanks for that, I'm glad you enjoyed the day, and I have to agree, I too found Irene's video quite an emotional little piece with a very fitting message for all of us (and I knew it was coming!).
Very nice to know all those late nights of preparing this, that and the other are well received and appreciated.
Onwards into another year of research now hey!
Thanks also to you and Janet from those scruuuummy cakes!
