The following Oliver Family emigrated to the US in 1911:
Frederick Emmanuel Oliver b.1884 Elizabeth Oliver (nee Borthwick) b.1889 Frederick Oliver b.1908 Elizabeth Oliver b.1910
Frederick Emmanuel travelled first on the SS Franconia, departing Liverpool on the 16th May bound for Boston.
Elizabeth, Frederick and Elizabeth then travelled on the SS Cedric, departing Liverpool on the 26th October bound for New York.
The family home address in the UK was 13 Bower Street, West Hartlepool.
Frederick was the son of Mark b.1858 and Elizabeth b1859 (nee Cowper) and grandson of Stephen Oliver b.1833 who we have a prisoner portrait of - he was also the brother of Stephen who emigrated to Canada in 1926.
Frederick and Elizabeth settled in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where they had two more children, some of the children are still alive today in Pennsylvania.
As we've worked our way into the 1900's we've seen more and more Oliver's and Oliver descendants emigrating in search of news lives on far off shores.
There are many examples dotted through various threads here on th emessageboard, in various articles and several of our website members have emigrated themselves.
I thought I would create a thread where we can capture a central list of these family members and some of their emigration details.
So please, anyone who recalls discussing emigrating Oliver's, knows of any emigrating Oliver's not yet discussed or maybe is an emigrated Oliver's themselves please feel free to add any information into this thread.
