Hi Jenny:

It will be wonderful to see the photo but there is no hurry, so just take your time.  I'll check back every once in a while.

It was a pity you couldn't make it to the Family History Day.  It would have been good to see you.  My mum was able to attend but she is slowing down now and her memory is not as sharp as it was when she was younger, but she's still doing well for her age (90 next year).

Best wishes to you.

Barb

Hi Jenny:

I 'm sorry to hear that your Mum passed away this year. I remember her well. She was a lovely lady. I'm Martina's sister, Barbara, and I remember you and your sister, Shirley.

I was really interested to hear that you have a photo of your grandparents and my grandparents. They so rarely had their photos taken that any new photo is a gem. Maybe Shane could post it on the website.

Barb

Hi There Ros,

Really nice to see that you've found the website, and thanks for joining and posting to the message board.

I had a fantastic afternoon with your grandmother Rene earlier in the year learning more about May and Thomas and their family, and I have to agree that she also spoke very highly of May and Thomas and what lovely people were.

Your Aunt Barbara was kind enough to share one or two photos of Tom and May, one in particular with the two boys Bernard and Henry - all of whom incidentally joined us at a recent Oliver Family History in Stonesfield by way of the picture below being included in a photo slideshow.

We actually sit very closely in the overall vastness of the Oliver Family tree, your Great Grandmother May and my Great Grandfather Frank were brother and sister, being two children of Edward and Lydia, our Great Great Grandparents.

Hope you enjoy having a look around the website and hope you find some new bits of information about the history of the Oliver Family.

Thanks for now,
Shane

Hello

I'm Roslyn Young (nee Hall) and found out about this site when my grandmother, Irene Harris, showed me the invitation she received from Shane.  Irene (Rene) married Bernard Harris (d.), and he and his twin brother Henry (d.) were the sons of Thomas Harris and May Oliver.  My mum, Martina Elizabeth Hall (nee Harris) (d.) spoke so fondly of her grandparents Thomas and May, and my brother's middle name is Thomas in his memory.

I know very little of my family history beyond this, but it is nice to see the information being researched and shared in this way.

Good luck with your searches.

Ros
