I'm sure I missed some of those the first time around, so many thanks for providing all those links, Shane. If it all goes quiet on the message board we'll know that everyone's glued to the radio instead!

As for me I think I shall start with "Intriguing deaths": what an irresistable title!

Hi Jane and all,

Back now from a little long weekend away and great to see some good discussion going on!

Thanks for the note on the BBC Radio 4 Series, I wasn't aware of this so will listen in.

I noticed it was Series '4' so I thought I'd have a look to see if series 1 to 3 were available for listening back to - and they are - and for anyone else who might be interested here are links to each of the episodes for each of the three series.

Playback is slighly different in that they're not available through iplayer (as that is only for current content), playback requires realplayer to be installed, this is free and can be downloaded here:

Version 10

Version 11
http://download.cnet.com/RealPlayer/3000-2071_4-10073040.html

Here are the program links:

Series 1

Episode 1 - First steps in genealogy

Episode 2 - Searching for missing ancestors

Episode 3 - Lost ancestors

Episode 4 - Spreading family trees

Episode 5 - Personal memorabilia

Episode 6 - The Appliance of Science

Series 2

Episode 1 - What did your ancestor do for a living?

Episode 2 - Is there a skeleton in your family closet?

Episode 3 - Does your family tree have roots in the sea?

Episode 4 - How the writers of the past can shed light on family history

Episode 5 - How a musical ancestor can be a bonus for the family historian

Episode 6 - Does genealogy have to take years out your own life?!

Series 3

Episode 1 - Does illegitimacy feature in your family tree?

Episode 2 - Tracing Jewish Roots

Episode 3 - Secret Wars

Episode 4 - Irish ancestors

Episode 5 - Witnesses to History

Episode 6 - Intriguing Deaths

Enjoy!
Shane

Hello everyone

There’s a new series of ‘Tracing your roots’ on the radio at the moment. The first episode, aired yesterday (Monday), had a Second World War theme to tie in with the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the War. It was well worth tuning into, I thought. If you missed the broadcast, don’t worry: you can listen to it online at www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/categories/factual/history/

Hope you enjoy it!

Jane
